Biography

Scot Hafley brings more than 25 years of experience in public education to his role as Superintendent of Calallen Independent School District. Throughout his career, he has served as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and district administrator. Most recently, he served as Assistant Superintendent for Wichita Falls ISD, where he helped lead a voter-approved bond program and the district’s long-range restructuring efforts, including the construction of two new high schools, elementary and middle school renovations and consolidations, and attendance zone realignment to balance enrollment and district demographics.

More than 20 years ago, while coaching in Kingsville, Hafley was first introduced to Calallen and its tradition of excellence. Today, he is excited to return to the Coastal Bend and serve a district with a proud tradition of excellence and a community that deeply values its schools.

Hafley believes successful school districts are built on trust, strong relationships, and open communication. He is committed to listening, learning, and working alongside the Board of Trustees, staff, students, parents, and community to continue building on Calallen ISD’s tradition of excellence.

Education has always been an important part of the Hafley family. His father dedicated more than 40 years to public education, retiring as superintendent of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. His mother began her career as a classroom teacher before transitioning into social work, and his wife, Marisa, serves as a School Improvement Specialist and LIFT Grant Coordinator at Region 9 Education Service Center.

Scot and Marisa have one son, TJ, who will attend Calallen High School. Their family looks forward to becoming active members of the Calallen community.
