Bond Planning Meeting - 1/23/2024
In January 2024, the Calallen ISD Bond Committee was formed to:
- Review the current financial status of the district;
- Review the Bond 2023 Proposition B projects;
- Provide input on community recognized needs;
- Determine whether a bond proposal for Calallen ISD should be called; and
- Determine the deails of the bond package.
During Bond 2023 planning fourty-seven (47) stakeholders who represented diverse backgrounds and expertise, including but not limited to, parents of CISD students of all ages, long-time and newer residents, staff members, and business owners together made up the Bond 2023 Planning Committee. Five meetings were held with the Bond 2023 Planning Committee to analyze data, establish priorities, develop options, and ultimately craft a 2023 Bond recommendation. The Bond 2023 Planning Committee recommendation was unanimous committee support to call for the Bond 2023, including Proposition B - Stadiums. As a result of the May 6, 2023 Bond Election, Bond 2023 Proposition B - Stadiums failed.
Due to the extensive work & unanimous support of Bond 2023, a smaller committee was called together for the Bond 2024 comprised of the seven Bond 2023 Advisory Committee members and three Board Members.
