Documents & Requirements for Student Registration
PROOF OF RESIDENCY
Under Texas Education Code $25.001(b)(1), a student is entitled to admission if the student and either parent
reside in the district. For Calallen lSD, two proofs of residency will be required.

Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten Registration

Pre-Kindergarten Registration
Calallen Independent School District offers a free FULL DAY Pre-Kindergarten program for eligible students. The program provides a foundation for our youngest students. Instruction is based upon the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students and is aligned to Prekindergarten Guidelines.
Prekindergarten Eligibility
To be eligible for Pre-K, your child must be 4 years of age on or before September 1st of the school year they intend to enroll. In addition, they must meet at least one of the eligibility requirements as required by Texas law and listed below:
- Child is unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
- Child is educationally disadvantaged (which means a student is eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program (guidelines can be found here); or
- Child was previously enrolled in a Pre-K 3-year-old program at Calallen or a prior school; or
- Child is homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 1143a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child; or
- Child is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
- Child is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
- Child is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code; or
- Child is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as: a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code; a firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code; or an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code.

Prekindergarten Online Application
Calallen ISD Pre-Kinder application is now open. Families will utilize the link below to complete the application process.

If you have other students who are currently enrolled in Calallen ISD and need to complete a Pre-K student application, please log in to your current Skyward Family Access account and use the "New Student Online Enrollment" (NSOE) link.
Required Documentation for Pre-Kindergarten Application
Before the application is approved, all students at Calallen ISD must provide the following:
- TWO Proofs of Residency (Click here: CISD Proof of Residency)
- Utility bill
- Lease agreement
- Mortgage payment
- Homeowner's insurance
- Child’s birth certificate or other proof of identity
- Certified birth certificate
- Passport
- Military ID
- Adoption Records
- Child’s social security card (if available)
- Child’s current immunization record
- All immunizations must be up-to-date in accordance with Calallen ISD School Board Policy standards.
- Your child must be available for testing if qualifying based on limited English Language Proficiency.
- Home language survey will be provided at registration
- Active duty military participation will require the following documents: Department of Defense Identification and a Statement of Service from the Adjutant General/ Director of Human Resources or an official letter from a commander that he/she is active/mobilized.
In addition, for specific program qualifications, the following will be required:
- Economically Disadvantaged
- Current paycheck stub
- SNAP letter
- Medicaid or CHIP letter/card
- Last year's tax return (only if self-employed)
- Acceptable documentation of cash income - letter from employer stating wages paid and frequency
- Limited English Language Speaker
- Your child must be available for testing if qualifying based on limited English Language Proficiency.
- Home language survey will be provided at registration
- Homeless
- McKinney Vento Form will be provided at registration
- Active Duty Military Participation
- Department of Defense (D0D) photo identification for children of active duty service members
- A copy of the "Statement of Service" from the Installation Adjutant General (AG) Director of Human Resources
- A copy of the Death Certificate using the service appropriate DoD form, or a DoD form that indicates death as the reason for the separation from service for children of service members who died or were killed
- A copy of the Purple Heart orders or citation for children of service members or mobilized reservists/guardsmen who were wounded or injured in combat; or
- A copy of the Line of Duty determination documentation
- Conservatorship of Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS)
- A copy of documents from the CPS indicating that the student is currently or formerly placed in their conservatorship following an adversary hearing under Family Code 262.201

- Parents electing to apply online for their student(s) may submit the necessary documentation online or in-person with campus office personnel beginning mid-July. Contact the campus for further information.
- Parents who do not have an active email address or access to technology will need to file an in-person application at the campus office and bring the necessary documentation to apply. Call the campus office to inquire about an in-person application date/time.

REGISTER FOR KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Eligibility
In order to enroll in kindergarten, students must be age 5 on or before September 1.
Kindergarten Online Registration for Students New to District:
Calallen ISD Kindergarten registration is now open. Families will utilize the link below to complete the registration process and upload any required documents.

If your student is currently enrolled in the Calallen ISD Pre-K program, you do not need to online register, but will complete Returning Student Registration in Family Access prior to school start.
If you have other students who are currently enrolled in Calallen ISD and need to enroll a younger or additional sibling into Calallen, please log in to your current Skyward Family Access account and use the "New Student Online Enrollment" (NSOE) link.

- Parents who do not have an active email address or access to technology will need to attend in-person registration at the campus office and bring the necessary documentation to registration. For registration date/time, please call the campus.
KINDER CAMP: Parents will be notified by their respective campus regarding their student's participation in KINDER CAMP, if the registration process is complete.
Half-days of KINDER CAMP will be scheduled. Dates and times are to be determined for the 2025-2026 school year.

Calallen ISD New Student Registration is open for online completion. During the school year if you have any questions, please contact the school registrar using the list below.
** NOTE: During the summer, campus registrars do not return until mid-July, at which time you can call the campus to follow-up on any questions or for further information.

Returning Student Registration
Calallen ISD Returning Student Registration will open in mid-July 2025
All returning Calallen ISD students must complete online registration for the current school year. The process can be completed by accessing the link on Skyward Family Access. Students will not be placed in classes or provided a schedule until the process has been completed. Parents/guardians can complete registration for each of their children by utilizing the student drop down link in Family Access.

It is best to use a laptop or desk computer for the registration process. Cell phone and/or tablet access will not display all the options needed to complete registration.
