Hello parents, guardians, and students! My name is Maria McDonel. This is my 19th year in education and I am excited to be a Wildcat!  I will be teaching 6th grade science at Calallen Middle School. I LOVE science, I LOVE kids, and I LOVE school! I am very passionate about what I do and I try to incorporate all of these things into my everyday lessons. I want to get kids as excited about science as I am. I also work very hard to give students the skills they need to be successful in all classes in general. This year I will be focusing on testing strategies, note taking skills, and emphasizing the importance of organizational skills. I look forward to working with each and every one of you this year.
