2022 Secondary Summer School Learning: Grades 6-12
Calallen ISD will be offering a summer program for students who require attendance hours, STAAR/EOC remediation, or remediation to be promoted to the next grade level or to be awarded credit. Summer programs will be offered for both CMS and CHS students. Parents of students who are required to attend have been notified by phone and/or letter mailed from the student's home campus regarding their specific needs. If you have questions regarding details about when your student needs to attend summer sessions, call CHS Counseling Office at 361-242-5636. Session 1 - June 6-16, 2022 Session 2 - June 20-30, 2022
*CMS students grades 6-8 will need to attend all 4 weeks
*CHS students will be assigned a schedule depending on course/credits needed
ALL CLASSES are MONDAY through THURSDAY
Times:
Morning Session: 8:15am - 12:00pm (Arrival time 8:00am)
Afternoon Session: 12:15pm - 4:00pm (Arrival time 12:00pm)
REPORT TO CHS CAFE
Meals: Provided free of charge to all
Breakfast served: 7:45am – 8:15am Lunch served: 11:45am– 12:15pm
Transportation: Bus transportation is required for CMS students grades 6-8
Bus transportation is not required for grades 9-12 but available to those who qualify
Cost: Free of Charge
General Overview:
- All Face to Face (no virtual) students will be required to attend face to face to get credit.
- Available to enrolled Calallen ISD students only. No charge for this year.
- Calallen ISD Food Service Department will provide breakfast and lunch.
- Health and safety protocols will be in place based on district, state, and CDC guidelines.
- Transportation will be provided for students utilizing centralized pick-up sites.
- Dress codes will be enforced as written in campus handbooks.
- Student/Parent contracts will be required to acknowledge dismissal policies:
- No more than 2 discipline referrals
- No more than 2 absences
*** Credit Recovery:
- Students will earn no higher than a 70
- Can be enrolled in no more than 2 courses
- Core and language courses only
*** End-of-Course Retest Dates: Calallen High School 8:15am
End-of-Course reviews are scheduled for the 1st two weeks of the summer session. Students needing to test will receive a letter providing specific dates and times.- English I: Tuesday June 21, 2022
- US History and Biology: Wednesday, June 22, 2022
- English II and Algebra 1: Thursday, June 23, 2022
2022 Elementary Summer School Learning: Grades K - 5
Calallen ISD will be offering a summer program for elementary students who require attendance credit or remediation to be promoted to the next grade level. Parents of students who are required to attend have been notified by phone and/or letter mailed from the student's home campus regarding their specific needs. Lunch served 11:30am – 12:30pm
Transportation: Available to those who qualify.
