Hello! My name is Deborah Leal-Ramirez and I will be teaching Professional Communications, Theatre Arts, Technical Theatre and Theatre Production here at Calallen HS. This is my 14th year teaching since I came into teaching as a second career. After obtaining my degree, I worked in restaurant and retail management for 8 years before deciding to enter the classroom. I began teaching in 2006 at West Oso ISD, moving on to CCISD in 2011. I left teaching in 2016 to stay home with my newborn son. Then in 2018, I worked as a Prevention Specialist for the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation. But the opportunity to teach here at Calallen came and I couldn't pass it up. I am so excited to be here!
Personally, I am married and have 3 babies, 3 stepbabies, and 3 stepgrandbabies. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, watching movies, traveling and relaxing at the beach. I volunteer my time at my kids' schools, KEDT, the Alzheimers Association, Aurora Arts Theatre and the Rialto Theatre. I am also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and work as a professional actor when I can.
Feel free to reach me at (361)242-5626, ext. 7504 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am looking forward to having a great 2021-2022 school year!!
