Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best that they can possibly be” - Rita Pierson
I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with the amazing students, supportive parents, and dedicated staff at Calallen East Elementary!
Before becoming a teacher, I served my community as a Police Officer for 7 years.  I started in Austin (TX) and worked patrol for 3 years before relocating to Fort Worth (TX).  In Fort Worth I worked primarily as a detective, but I also became a certified instructor and taught continuing education courses for my department.  While working as a police instructor, I found that I loved teaching and I made the decision to follow this path full time.
I enrolled in the Education program at Southern Methodist University, earning my Master of Education degree in May 2015.  I began my taching career in Fort Worth (TX) and moved to Corpus Christi in 2017 for my wife to continue her education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.   This will be my fifth year teaching, and my third year in 2nd Grade.  I have taught First and Second Grade.  We have an English Bulldog named Oliver and two cats, Chandler and Riley.
I am greatly looking forward to this school year and cannot wait to see the amazing growth our students can achieve!
