7th Grade Science Welcome to all parents and students! My name is Cheryl Lawton and I teach 7th Grade Science and 7th Grade Enriched/GT Science at Calallen MS. I am starting my 25th year at Calallen Middle School. My teaching career started in 1983 as a high school biology teacher. In total, I have been teaching for 29 years. 

Education:

B.S. Degree in Biology with a minor in Kinesiology from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas in 1983.

My Teaching Mission:

I love to teach life science. My dad was my biology teacher in high school and he inspired me to want to also teach. Every car ride was a science field trip with our family, identifying plants and animals as we drove. In addition to wanting my students to love science and the natural world, I want my students to know that I care about them and am here to help them as much as I can. Making relationships with students is what drives me to teach. I also want my students to become good citizens as they transition into the world by teaching them respect, honesty and a good work ethic.
