Curriculum and Instruction

The Calallen Independent School District believes the purpose of public education is to develop life-long learners and productive citizens to sustain a strong economy and a democratic society.  Students are offered a quality educational environment to assist them in becoming critical thinkers and problem solvers to function successfully in an ever changing global society.  A high quality, well designed instructional  program gives students from all cultural, economic and educational backgrounds opportunities to achieve their full potential.  Our learners are engaged in innovative, rigorous lessons designed to meet the needs of all students.

CISD students consistently bring distinction to the District through their accomplishments in academics, career and technology, gifted and talented programs, performing arts, agricultural science, and athletics.

CISD's curriculum is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).  The district utilizes the TEKS Resource System, an online curriculum management system aligned with the TEKS.
