    Objectives:  

      • This course is designed for first year Accounting students who want to understand the purpose of Accounting, and opportunities for careers in the field.
      • Emphasis will be placed on “real-world” situations and applications.  We will reinforce basic Accounting concepts and terminology.
      • Students will be introduced to:
    • Basic accounting concepts
    • The Accounting Cycle
    • Analyzing and recording transactions
    • Journalizing
    • Posting
    • Financial statements
    • Adjusting and closing entries
    • Accounting for different business types
    • GAAP / Accounting Principles
    • Careers in accounting
