Greetings! My name is Felipe Garcia and I am excited to be the new Fine Arts teacher at Wood River Elementary. I began teaching music in the public schools in 2017; however, my started my career as a private music teacher in 2010. I currently hold a Bachelors Degree in Music Theory from the University of North Texas and a Masters Degree in Music Theory from Texas State University. As a Fine Arts teacher and life-long learner, I am currently a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Art Educators Association so that I can improve at my craft. I believe the Fine Arts classroom should be a safe, social environment where kids are able to feel safe while expressing themselves creativly while having an enjoyable experience with their peers. 

Personally, I enjoy spending freetime with my wife and three children, as well as my parents, who live at the family ranch in Palito Blanco, TX. My hobbies include playing and listening to music, making art with my wife, reading and playing video games with my children, watching movies with my mom, watching sports with my dad, and yoga.
